Where to Stay on Lake ComoA Curated Stay Guide by Lindsay & Joe
We’ve curated our favorite stays on Lake Como to help you make the most of your trip. Each hotel offers breathtaking views, timeless Italian charm, and an unforgettable experience. Every property has been chosen for its charm and proximity, all just 8–10 minutes from our wedding venue, Villa Balbianello.
Take it from our recent stay in Menaggio, Airbnbs may look dreamy online but they can be quite the adventure once you arrive.
Iconic Lakefront Luxury
-

Grand Hotel Tremezzo
Iconic, glamorous, and right on the lake. Think floating pools, golden interiors, and the best aperitivo in Como. The cocktail bar was the most serene, chic experience of my life. Interiors even better than The Plaza in New York.
-

Grand Hotel Victoria
A blend of classic Italian charm and modern luxury, set in the heart of Menaggio. The resort is elegantly expansive with several restaurants on site and charming golf carts ready to whisk you anywhere across the property.
Do not sleep on the spa, it’s a destination in itself. Joe was like a kid in a candy shop exploring every sauna, steam room, and sensory pool. Our lunch at the beach club was one of our favorites of the entire trip, made even more memorable by the panoramic lake views and golden afternoon light.
The location couldn’t be better. You can easily stroll into the town of Menaggio for a morning espresso or an evening gelato, making it one of the most effortlessly enjoyable stays on the lake.
-

Musa Lago di Como
Intimate, architectural, and effortlessly cool. Musa feels like a design lover’s dream. Every corner is intentional, from the sculptural lighting to the minimalist lakefront pool that looks straight out of a Vogue spread.
Dinner at Roteo, the hotel’s restaurant, is an experience in itself with elegant service, impeccable cocktails, and sunsets that make the entire dining room glow. It’s small, exclusive, and has that rare “we’ve discovered something special” feeling.
Charming Local Finds
-
Hotel Villa Marie
A romantic hidden gem with all the charm of old-world Italy. Nestled among quaint gardens overlooking the lake, Villa Marie is family-run and filled with thoughtful touches such as fresh flowers in the rooms, hand-painted tiles, and a breakfast terrace that feels straight out of a postcard.
It’s peaceful, beautifully authentic, and perfect for guests who love the idea of slow mornings with espresso and birdsong.
-
Albergo Villa Eddy
Warm, welcoming, and quietly convenient. We toured Villa Edy and were greeted with kind smiles and a perfectly made cappuccino that set the tone for the genuine hospitality here. The staff was polite and attentive, and the entire property, from the rooms to the pool area, felt impeccably clean and well cared for.
Tucked a bit farther from the shoreline, Villa Edy still captures the charm of Lake Como with wonderful open views. It’s a perfect option for guests seeking comfort, kindness, and proximity without compromising on the Lake Como experience.
